The bits that make a tag look built

Tap any symbol or frame to copy it. Frames pick up whatever you typed in the box above, so you can paste the whole thing straight into your profile.

Most-styled first names here: Aryan, Emma, Arjun, Sophia, Priya, Noah, Rohan, Olivia, Ananya, Liam, Aisha, Kabir — type your own above and every style updates.

Platform rules

Know the limit before you pick the name

A name that fits on Steam gets rejected on Xbox. These are the current username limits we re-check every month — tap any platform for the full rules and the name-change steps.

Limits are for the username. Display names are usually longer and accept styled characters.

How it works

Three steps, about ten seconds

1

Type the name

Put your real name, gamer tag or handle into any box on the site. It is converted on your own device — nothing is sent to a server.

2

Pick a style

Scroll the styles and watch your name change in each one. Bold and sans-bold survive almost everywhere; script and fraktur look best in a bio.

3

Copy and paste

Hit Copy and paste it into the app. If the app refuses it, that field only accepts plain letters — use your display name instead.

About the tool

A stylish name generator that respects the rules

Name Styler is a free stylish name generator and text transformer. It maps ordinary letters onto Unicode’s bold, italic, script, fraktur, monospace and small-caps ranges, so a plain gamer tag becomes a styled one without ever becoming an image.

That matters because platforms read text, not pictures. A Unicode name keeps working in search, in mentions and in your profile link — which a screenshot or a custom font never does.

The same engine powers the gaming name side of the site: PUBG and Free Fire tags, clan names, Valorant IDs and Roblox handles, each checked against the character limits that platform actually enforces.

For social, the Instagram bio fonts and WhatsApp status styles keep line breaks and spacing intact, and the TikTok styles stay inside the 24-character handle limit. Everything is copy-paste ready, and nothing needs an account.

Questions

The things people ask first

How do I make a stylish name?

Type your name in the box at the top of this page. Every style updates as you type, so you scroll to the one you like and press Copy. Nothing is installed and nothing is downloaded — you are copying text, so it is ready to paste straight away.

How do I copy and paste fancy text?

Tap or click Copy next to the style you want. Then open the app, tap and hold the name field on a phone (or press Ctrl + V on a computer) and choose Paste. If the paste option does not appear, tap the field once first so the keyboard opens, then hold it.

What is a fancy text generator — are these real fonts?

They are not fonts you install. Each style is a separate set of real Unicode characters that already exists on your device, so a styled name is still plain text. That is exactly why it survives a copy and paste into Instagram, TikTok, Discord or a game, and why the app treats it as letters rather than a picture.

Can I use special characters in a Discord username?

Not in the username itself. Discord’s own rules limit a username to letters a–z, numbers 0–9, an underscore and a period, 2 to 32 characters, forced to lowercase, with no two periods in a row. Your display name and your server nickname are the places that accept special characters and emoji, 1 to 32 characters. Put the styled version there. Full breakdown in the Discord special characters guide.

Do I need Discord Nitro for special characters?

No. Symbols and styled letters in a display name, a nickname or a message are ordinary Unicode text, and Discord’s published Nitro perk list does not include them. Nitro’s paid “display name styles” are a separate cosmetic effect inside Discord, not the copy-paste characters you get here.

Why is my stylish name not working or showing boxes?

Three usual reasons. The app is filtering the field — most platforms only allow plain letters in the username and keep the styling for the display name. The name is too long once the symbols are counted. Or the device you are viewing on has no glyph for that character set, which is what an empty box or a question mark means — on your phone it may look perfect while a friend’s older device shows boxes. Pick a plainer style if a lot of people need to read it.

How many characters can my username be?

It changes per platform. Xbox allows 12, Valorant and Fortnite 3–16, Roblox 3–20, Discord 2–32 and Steam up to 32. Symbols count too, so a name that fits in plain letters can fail once it is styled. Paste it into the name length checker to see which platforms accept it.

Is it free, and do I need an account?

Free, with no sign-up and no payment step anywhere on the site. Everything runs in your browser, so what you type never reaches our server. The only exceptions are the Minecraft and Roblox checkers, which send just the username you enter to Mojang’s and Roblox’s own public APIs to ask whether it is taken.
